Marathon Monday in Boston took a tragic turn when the finish line area was evacuated after two explosions rocked Boylston Street.

In the wake of those events, Boston’s professional sports teams have taken a backseat to the tragic and pressing matters that the city still struggles to come to terms with.

After the Bruins announced their Monday night game would be postponed, the NBA PR department tweeted that Tuesday night’s matchup between the Celtics and Pacers at TD Garden would be canceled.

According to the tweet, the game will not be rescheduled.

The Celtics will resume game action Wednesday against the Raptors in Toronto.

Update: Celtics public relations has released a statement saying that instructions for any fans holding tickets to the game will be provided on Celtics.com after 3 pm on Tuesday.
