NBA Releases Playoff Schedule, Celtics Begin Series With Knicks Saturday, April 20

While the Western Conference playoff teams and seedings went down to the wire, the East has been set for a while now. However, those waiting to find out when their teams will tip off in the postseason need wait no longer.

On Thursday, a day after the end of the regular season, the NBA announced its first round playoff schedule, with four series slated to begin Saturday, April 20, and the other four set to begin the next day. For Boston fans, the Celtics will tip off their series against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, with a 3 p.m. ET start time.

The television schedule for most of the first round was also released on Thursday. ESPN, TNT, ABC and NBA TV will all carry games, with the Celtics-Knicks opener airing on ABC.

After the Game 1 between New York and Boston, the teams actually get two days off, resuming the series on Tuesday, April 23 in an 8 p.m. game set for TNT. Check out the entirety of the NBA’s Round 1 playoff schedule by clicking here.
