Dustin Pedroia5:30 p.m.: We won’t have Friday night baseball at Fenway after all.

Friday’s game has been postponed due to inclement weather — rain, for all you scoring at home. The game will be made up on June 18 at 1:05 p.m. ET as part of a day-night doubleheader. The start time of that evening’s regularly scheduled Red Sox-Rays game will remain at 7:10 p.m.

Those with tickets to Friday’s postponed game can use their tickets for the 1:05 p.m. game on June 18. The park will then be cleared between games.

11 a.m. ET: The Red Sox are getting their first taste of adversity this season. We’ll see if they’re up to the challenge.

After putting their record at 5-2 with a thrilling victory in Monday’s home opener, the Red Sox dropped two in a row to the Orioles. Making matters worse is that both losses were winnable games.

The Sox were one strike away from closing out the O’s on Wednesday night, but Baltimore rallied against closer Joel Hanrahan. Manny Machado dealt the big blow with a three-run home run into the Monster Seats, and the Orioles came away with an 8-5 victory.

On Thursday, Alfredo Aceves did a nice job filling in for John Lackey, but the Boston offense struggled. Eventually, the Sox’ bullpen caved, and Adam Jones’ seventh-inning, RBI double proved to be the difference in a 3-2 game.

The Red Sox have said goodbye to the Orioles, though. Now their focus is on the Tampa Bay Rays, who arrive at Fenway on Friday for the first game of a four-game set.

Felix Doubront will toe the rubber for Boston in the series opener. The action is scheduled to kick off at 7:10 p.m. ET. Be sure to stick around here for updates throughout the day.
