Report: Geno Smith to Visit Eagles on Wednesday After Working Out With Chiefs Previously

Geno SmithGeno Smith is a busy man this week.

After visiting Andy Reid and the Chiefs on Tuesday, Smith is in Philadelphia with Reid’s old team, the Eagles. The quarterback position is crowded in Philly after the team signed Dennis Dixon, re-signed Michael Vick and still have Trent Edwards, Nick Foles and G.J. Kinne on the roster.

Smith is widely considered the best quarterback in the 2013 draft, but some doubts have creeped up recently about his game from pundits like Mike Mayock, Greg Cosell and Nolan Nawrocki. Almost all of the teams in the Top 10 that would likely take a shot on Smith — the Chiefs, Jaguars, Raiders, Eagles, Browns, Cardinals, Bills and Jets — have added veteran quarterbacks since free agency began.

The Eagles will run new head coach Chip Kelly‘s offense in Philadelphia. Smith’s speed and experience in the spread offense would fit in well with Kelly’s spread-option attack.
