This has not been a good year for Flyers fans, but for a split second Monday afternoon, the team appeared to have added the services of Nashville’s two best players.
Predators goalie Pekka Rinne posted a photo on his Instagram account of himself and teammate Shea Weber, whom Philadelphia made a hard push to acquire last summer, posing with Flyers caps.
The photo caused a brief stir on Broad Street before Philly fans checked their calendars and realized they had fallen victim to an April Fools Day prank. In the words of Instagram commenter ptarnoff13: “well played gentlemen… well played.”
