Steven Wright‘s outing on Tuesday night would normally be a forgettable one, except the circumstances surrounding the knuckleballer’s performance would in fact make it memorable.

Despite allowing five runs in 3 2/3 innings of work against the Oakland A’s, Wright was all smiles after the game. It was, after all, his major league debut. The 28-year-old was happy to have done his job after the dust had settled, and he spoke about the support he received from his teammates on this historic night.
