JagrThe Bruins finished transactions before Wednesday’s NHL trade deadline by picking up Jaromir Jagr from the Dallas Stars in exchange for prospects Lane MacDermid and Cody Payne in addition to a conditional second-round pick. The pick will become a first-rounder if Boston reaches the Eastern Conference final.

The organization also traded a conditional seventh-round pick for defenseman Wade Redden.

The B’s had lost five of their last eight games leading up to the deadline, and were under pressure to reinforce their roster heading into the postseason. With weaknesses on both sides of the ice, the Bruins attempted to strengthen their defensive reserves while also acquiring a player with scoring power.

Jagr led Dallas with 14 goals and 26 points this season. Redden is reunited with former Ottawa Senators teammate and Bruins captain Zdeno Chara. The pair played together in Ottawa from 2001-06. Did the Bruins do enough to strengthen their team heading into the stretch?
