The Tampa Bay Lightning are celebrating their 20th season in the NHL, but for some of us, it still feels like yesterday that they were the new kids on the block.

In their first season, they hosted opponents in Tampa’s 11,000-seat Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds and finished with just 23 wins (sadly, that’s not even close to their worst season). It took them four seasons to reach the postseason, but the division layout was a lot different back then — as were the names.
