The Bruins hammered the vaunted Rangers defense in overtime of Game 1, outshooting New York 16-5, and it finally paid off more than 15 minutes into the extra session.
With 4:20 remaining in the first overtime, Brad Marchand took a feed from Patrice Bergeron and slid it through Henrik Lundqvist‘s legs, giving the B’s a 3-2 win and a 1-0 lead in the teams’ Eastern Conference semifinal series.
