Clay Buchholz was not pleased with how he started Wednesday night’s game, allowing a hit and two walks in the first inning. He was very satisfied with the outcome, though, as the right-hander surrendered just one run on five hits over seven frames en route to picking up his team-leading seventh win of the season.
Buchholz has been lights out for the Red Sox all season. With the exception of a six-inning, four-run outing against Toronto on May 11, Buchholz has pitched seven or more innings in nine of his ten starts, while allowing two runs or fewer on all nine occasions.
