Danny AmendolaDanny Amendola doesn’t look like he’s skipped a beat since coming over to New England.

The free agent wide receiver looks comfortable in the Patriots’ system, catching passes from Tom Brady. He made the catch of the day on Wednesday when he leaped over Alfonzo Dennard to make a tough grab. Dennard had an otherwise impressive day, swatting passes left and right.

Ras-I Dowling had another stellar day of practice, as well. He looks fully recovered from injuries and is playing the ball well outside.

Chandler Jones and Jermaine Cunningham look like they have bulked up over the offseason. Jones said he had gained 10 pound over the offseason.

Brandon Spikes, Brandon Bolden, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Will Svitek were among those absent at the OTAs session. There were 84 total players participating. Josh Boyce, Duron Harmon, Mark Harrison and McCourty were among those limited at practice, but on the field. Dane Fletcher took Spikes’ role in the middle of the defense.

Rookie Jamie Collins worked as an outside linebacker during the day’s sessions. Players were not in pads, but he was able to get in Brady’s face a couple times while running through 7-on-7s at three-quarter speed.

Leon Washington, T.J. Moe, Danny Amendola and Lavelle Hawkins were catching punts. Washington continues to show a quick burst off the line.

Michael Jenkins continued to work heavily with Brady across from Amendola. He’s not as quick as Aaron Dobson, who continued to make highlight-reel catches with some drops mixed in, but Jenkins is consistent and shows steady hands.
