The Bruins were not firing on all cylinders at the end of the regular season, and it falls on coach Claude Julien to find the right combinations for the playoffs, which begin Wednesday night.

That appears to include sitting defenseman Dougie Hamilton for Game 1 of the Bruins’ best-of-seven series against the Maple Leafs.

Julien said Wednesday morning that Hamilton will most likely not be taking the ice in Game 1.

Hamilton got off to a great start this season but saw less playing time as the year went on, appearing in just eight of the Bruins’ 14 games in April. Hamilton has played more cumulative games than any of his teammates this year after playing in the OHL while the NHL was in its lockout.

Julien also said that Nathan Horton, who is coming back from an upper-body injury, will be a game-time decision.
