Ecuadoran Soccer Player Walter Calderon Falls to Ground, Scores Sensational Scissor-Kick Goal (Video)

Walter Calderon could have done the easy thing and begged the referee for a penalty kick. He did something much, much better instead.

Last week, Calderon scored a once-in-a-lifetime goal by controlling the ball, flicking it up to himself, falling to the ground, then expertly finishing the volley while still lying on the grass.

The veteran Ecuadoran striker couldn’t have picked a better time to perform the feat. He struck early in the second half of the Quito, Ecuador derby between his team, Deportivo Quito and local foes LDU Quito. His team was leading 1-0 when he scored. His volley secured the win and gave Deportivo fans something to brag about until the end of time.

Watch Calderon’s strike in the video below.
