Floyd Mayweather Jr. Ties Own Guarantee Mark of $32 Million for Fight Against Robert Guerrero

Floyd MayweatherFloyd Mayweather Jr. is set to make a bunch of money on Saturday night.

In a contract signed on Friday, Mayweather agreed to earn a minimum $32 million for his fight on Saturday night against Robert Guerrero, according to ESPN.com. That amount ties Mayweather’s own guarantee record set last year in his win over Miguel Cotto.

Mayweather will receive the $32 million as soon as the fight is over, but that’s not all the welterweight will earn. Mayweather is also set to make 90 percent of the profit from the event. The fight will be broadcast on pay-per-view and is expected to receive over one million subscriptions.

Mayweather was the highest-paid athlete in the world last year, earning over $85 million. He’s well on his way to eclipsing that mark already this year with plans to fight again in September.
