The Maple Leafs and their fans had it all Monday and into Monday night. They celebrated “Blue and White Day” while wearing Leafs jerseys and scarves as they geared up for Game 3. They filled Maple Leaf Square and the Air Canada Centre for the first playoff game since 2004. There was excitement abound in Toronto. And then the game started.

The big party was spoiled by the big, bad Bruins, as Boston came into Toronto’s  barn and handed the Leafs a 5-2 loss in Game 3 of the best-of-seven series. However, there are plenty of Toronto hockey fans who won’t soon forget what it was like to once again see their team back in the playoffs, as they ended the longest postseason drought in the sport.

CBC did their part to get Leafs fans lucky who weren’t lucky enough to be in attendance riled up. Once again, Hockey Night in Canada pulled out all of the stops for another incredibly well-done opening.
