The Penguins owned the Bruins during the regular season. But does that mean anything for the Eastern Conference final?

Not according to Jack Edwards, who says the Bruins are a much, much better team than they were during the year’s first 48 games. Edwards phoned in for a Friday morning interview with WAAF to discuss the impending playoff series, and noted that Boston is playing a much more physical brand of hockey during the postseason.

However, Edwards also said that history doesn’t necessarily matter in this series. Despite the extra attention on Pittsburgh’s Matt Cooke, Edwards thinks history and bad blood are for those outside the boards. But don’t worry, the series should get plenty chippy on its own.

Listen to Edwards’ full interview below, and be sure to catch NESN’s one-hour pre- and postgame shows on NESN and NESNplus throughout the playoffs, beginning this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on NESN.
