Bruins forward Jaromir Jagr is a living legend in the hockey world, and he’s now just four wins away from playing for the third Stanley Cup of his Hall of Fame career. He won those two Cups, of course, with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team that now stands in the way of his return to the Stanley Cup Final.

It’s going to be one of the many storylines when the two teams finally get underway in the Eastern Conference finals later this week (or weekend), as Jagr will be returning to Pittsburgh where he started his storied career. Jagr’s contributions with Pittsburgh won’t soon be forgotten, nor will the Jagr era in the Steel City.

Like other NHL teams, the Penguins pay honor to their past with a “ring of honor” around the team’s dressing room at their home rink. The Bruins have a similar tribute in their room at TD Garden as well, with the photos of players and coaches of the past featured prominently above the players’ lockers.

One of the players the Penguins honor is Jagr. His photo is among the Penguins legends on the Ring of Honor sitting right above Mark Eaton‘s stall.

“He’s up here for the great time he had here with Pittsburgh and winning two Cups and being one of the greatest players of all time,” Eaton said, according to NHL.com. “That’s why he’s in here, but that doesn’t play into our heads at all now.”

Pittsburgh head coach Dan Bylsma isn’t too concerned about it, either.

“I have never given it thought that one of the star players in Pittsburgh history is up on our Ring of Honor and still playing,” Bylsma said.

See a photo of Jagr’s likeness in the Pittsburgh room in the photo below, which is from the Twitter feed of Penguins equipment manager Dana Heinze.
