Brandon Brown, a free agent minor league third baseman who was cut by the Mets on March 30, has been suspended 50 games after a positive drug test, The Associated Press reports.

Brown, 25, was found to have used metabolites of Stanozolol, according to the AP.

Brown played for the Mets’ Single-A team, the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League, where he hit .222 with five home runs and 34 RBIs last season. He is now among the 18 players suspended this year for drug use in the minor leagues.
