You don’t have to be a hockey fan to enjoy the timeless wonder that is NHL ’94.

The video game has drawn somewhat of a cult following over the years despite newer versions of the game being released due to its awesomely horrible and hysterical graphics.

Now, as hockey fans ponder who to select as the cover boy for NHL 14, the league has put together a video highlight package of the two finalists, goalies Sergei Bobrovsky and Martin Brodeur, with an added twist: NHL ’94 graphics.

Brodeur, who has played in the NHL for 20 years, just missed the cutoff date for being included in the original NHL ’94 by one year (the 1992-93 rosters were used for the game, and he was in the AHL). Only three players who were featured in the game remain in the league: Jaromir Jagr, Teemu Selanne and Roman Hamrlik.

After fans watch the video, they can make their pick for the cover online until June 2.

But no matter who graces the cover, doesn’t everyone win after seeing that video?
