Patriots Will Hold Joint Practices With Tampa Bay Buccaneers During Preseason

Bill Belichick‘s relationship with Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano just continues to expand.

After news that Belichick would host Schiano and some of his staff on a visit to New England next week surfaced earlier on Friday, now it appears that the two will also hold joint practices during the preseason as well, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

The extensive time Belichick and Schiano plan to spend together is a bit unusual for two NFL coaches, especially considering the Patriots and Bucs are slated to play one another in Week 3. Then again, the preseason practices can at least be justified, as the two teams are also set to meet at Gillette Stadium for a preseason game on Aug. 16.

The Patriots held joint practices with the New Orleans Saints ahead of their preseason game last season, so it’s not the first time they’ve done such a thing.

With the preseason game already in place, logic would suggest that the two teams will hold their joint practices during the week leading up to that game. So, anticipate the Buccaneers to be in town for those workouts from Aug. 12 to 16.
