He may be only third in line to claim the British throne, but over the weekend Prince Harry was first in the hearts of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

According to The Telegraph, Prince Harry of Wales (his official title) visited the Academy on Day 4 of his United States tour. The 28-year-old watched the football team practice and also took part firsthand in some of the cheerleader’s drills. The prince actually helped out as a base of the pyramid, getting Britain’s highest military official in America, major general Buster Howse, to line up alongside him.

Academy football coach Troy Calhoun also spent some time working with the royal on his American football motion, having him throw some passes. By the end, the prince was reportedly hitting receivers at 40 yards away and caught a 50-yard pass on the run.

“The Prince was terrific,” said Calhoun. “You can tell he has great body coordination, he would be a natural football player. He is aggressive, he is strong, he is smart, I would love to sign him up to the Air Force Academy football team if I could.

“Honestly I was a little surprised how good he was. It’s not an easy game to pick up and a football is not a regular ball.”
