Brandon WilliamsBaltimore Ravens rookie Brandon Williams had some tough assignments on his journey to the NFL, even if it meant doing the dirty work.

Williams, who was drafted in the third round of April’s NFL draft, was a standout defensive tackle at Division II Missouri Southern. As an interior lineman, Willaims was tasked with getting dirty down in the trenches. As it turns out, that’s not the only dirty work he was doing.

During last offseason, Williams picked up a job hauling and cleaning portable toilets — better known as port-a-potties — according to the Baltimore Sun. The dirty work only motivated Williams to work even harder to achieve his NFL dreams, though.

“Sometimes, you got a little poop on you,” Williams said. “Every time I was doing that, I said to myself, ‘I gotta work harder, I’m not doing this the rest of my life.’ It motivated me to get better.”

Williams made the most of the job, even visualizing the port-a-potties as offensive lineman when lifting them off the ground.

“I acted like I was playing football,” Williams said. “I just made it fun.”

Well, after signing a four-year, $2.6 million rookie contract last week, at least Williams can rest easy knowing he won’t have to push poop around anymore.
