Report: Former NBA All-Star Mookie Blaylock in Critical Condition at Atlanta Hospital After Car Crash

BLAYLOCK HARPERFormer NBA All-Star and Atlanta Hawks guard Mookie Blaylock is reportedly fighting for his life after a car crash on Friday.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Blaylock was on life support and unresponsive at the Atlanta Medical Center Friday afternoon. The USA Today reports that he was taken off life support around 8 p.m., but was still in “guarded, but critical” condition. Police say the 46-year-old Blaylock was driving on Tara Boulevard when he crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic.

Blaylock’s vehicle struck another vehicle head-on, injuring two people in that car, including a female who is said to have suffered internal bleeding.

Blaylock played 13 seasons in the NBA, including six with the Hawks from 1992 to 1999. The guard averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 assists per game over the course of his career.
