Giancarlo StantonGiancarlo Stanton‘s 2013 season is off to a rough start, but many teams would still love to pry the 23-year-old away from the Marlins.

According to CSNPhilly.com’s Jim Salisbury, the Phillies over the last several months have made “multiple” inquiries to the Marlins about Stanton’s availability, but they were told that he’s not available.

The Marlins have been adamant about Stanton not being available at this time. However, the Fish have a tendency of hosting fire sales, and they’re currently in the midst of another tough season. Salisbury reports that there’s a feeling around baseball that Stanton will become available at some point, and the Phillies have made it known that they’d like to speak with the Marlins if and when that happens.

Stanton is currently dealing with a hamstring issue that could keep him out until June, and he’s only hitting .227 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 20 games thus far. Stanton’s numbers have risen each of the last three seasons, though, and his raw power is something to marvel at.
