Bill Belichick doesn’t do hypotheticals, and it appears neither does Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
Kraft, who first employed Belichick some 14 years ago, followed the tight-lipped approach of his head coach when asked about his reported interest in purchasing the Boston Globe.
Kraft was asked about his interest in the paper after giving the keynote address at Suffolk University’s commencement on Sunday, and the 71-year-old owner gave a very Belichickian response, per the Boston Herald.
“Our family looks at a number of different investments, and we like to talk about things if we do it,” Kraft said “We don’t talk about hypothetical situations.”
As for all the reports sprouting up around a potential purchase, Kraft said that people could decide for themselves “whether to believe everything you read in the papers.”
Kraft did make a big acquisition on Sunday, receiving an honorary doctor of public service degree from Suffolk after his speech. Who knows? Maybe the Globe will be next.
