Sore Loser Water Polo Player Shoves Opponent Into Pool During Post-Match Handshake Line (Video)

Tempers can flare in any sports context, and it’s usually a good idea to ask hot-headed opponents to cool off after an intense game. Of course, that’s usually not in a literal sense.

Cooler heads did not prevail after the Florida state water polo championship between rival high schools Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas and Miami Belen Jesuit School. After the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders won the contentious match with a final score of 13-10, the two teams lined up for a traditional handshake line.

That’s when things got a little wet and wild. One Belen player gave a Raider player a shove, sending the latter splashing into the pool. The St. Thomas Aquinas team then came to their teammate’s defense, sparking a shoving match on the edge of the water.
