Jason Collins Support Causes Wisconsin Church to Cancel Event With Former Packers Safety LeRoy Butler

LeRoy Butler was all set to earn $8,500 to speak at a Wisconsin church — then he tweeted at Jason Collins.

Butler’s tweet read “Congrats to Jason Collins.” That was enough for the church to no longer want to be associated with the former Packers All-Pro safety.

After Butler sent his tweet on Monday, the church told Butler they were canceling his event. He asked why, and the church was straight forward in telling Butler it was because of his tweet in support of the first openly gay active American male athlete. Butler was not happy and he took to Twitter to vent.
