Ryan OByrne, Gregory CampbellIt took more than 50 minutes for the Bruins to give their fans something to cheer about, but when Zdeno Chara beat Toronto goalie James Reimer with a wrister midway through the third period, the TD Garden crowd allowed itself a moment of hope.

Unfortunately for the black and gold-clad fans, Chara’s goal was all the Bruins could muster in a 2-1 loss to the Maple Leafs in Game 5. Instead of putting away the Leafs, the Bruins head back across the border for Game 6. The only way this series comes back to Boston is for a decisive Game 7.

Following a scoreless first period, Tyler Bozak netted an unassisted wrist shot past Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, who made 31 saves in the loss. Clark MacArthur continued his strong series by scoring on a backhand early in the third period, and the Bruins looked like they might go away quietly. There was a late flurry, but Chara’s goal was all the Bruins got out of it.
