Jose Jimenez learned the hard way that man’s best friend has friends too.

Jimenez didn’t like it when a stray dog ran onto the field and interrupted a game between Bella Vista and San Juan in Argentina’s fourth division, so the Argentine soccer player took matters into his own hands.

As the dog lay on the field, Jimenez walked up to it, grabbed it by the neck, picked it up and toward the sidelines. He tried to throw the dog over a nearby fence, but he threw the dog into it instead.

This horrified and astonished onlookers. Fans pelted him with beer and other objects, while players on the opposing team tried to fight him. The referee finally stepped in and calmed things down by giving Jimenez a red card and ending his day.

Watch Jimenez throw the dog, then get thrown out, in the video below.
