BlackhawksThe Bruins were less than two minutes from forcing a deciding Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final. Instead, Monday night’s Game 6 at TD Garden will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Milan Lucic scored 12:11 into the third period to give Boston a 2-1 lead, but Bryan Bickell‘s tally with 1:22 remaining in regulation knotted the score and seemed to set up yet another overtime finish.

The Blackhawks did not need the extra session, though, as Dave Bolland hammered home a rebound past Tuukka Rask just 17 seconds later to stun the Garden crowd and give Chicago its second championship in four years.

It was about as painful an ending as Bruins fans can imagine, but it cannot be denied that the B’s and Blackhawks played a series for the ages — one that will be remembered among the greatest Stanley Cup Finals of all time.
