It’s the Stanley Cup Final, so you have to take every injury update from a head coach with a grain of salt, but Bruins head coach Claude Julien sounds at least somewhat hopeful in regard to Nathan Horton.
Horton had to leave Game 1 of the Cup Final against Chicago with an apparent upper-body injury and did not return. Julien offered no update on Horton following the game, and he had a little bit more of an update during his media availability Thursday afternoon in Chicago.
Julien said that Horton is day-to-day, which is about as vague as can be, especially considering there’s only a few more days left in the entire season. The head coach did add, however, that he’s got his “fingers crossed” that Horton would be able to play in Game 2 on Saturday in Chicago.
It would obviously be a huge blow for the Bruins if Horton is not able to return. He’s been one of the Bruins’ best forwards with 18 points through 17 playoff games.
