Sidney Crosby, Patrice BergeronThe Bruins came into Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals as underdogs. It would be difficult to call them that after this one.

Boston dominated throughout, running away from the Penguins en route to a 3-0 victory and a one-game lead in this best-of-seven series. David Krejci‘s two goals paced the Bruins to a surprisingly easy victory, in a game that set the stage for some serious fireworks in the rest of these conference finals.

Physical play ruled the day as things got chippy between the two squads quickly. Matt Cooke was ejected for a dirty hit on Adam McQuaid, Patrice Bergeron fought Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby even entertained the thought of starting something with Bruins captain Zdeno Chara.

There’s a lot of hockey left to be played between these two teams. It should be fun.
