David OrtizThe votes are in, and David Ortiz is leading the way for All-Star voting at his designated hitter position. Of course, there are still many votes remaining to be cast before he’s penciled into the starting American League lineup.

Big Papi has a big lead over the Rangers’ Lance Berkman at the DH position, with Ortiz’s 1,045,283 votes at first count dwarfing Berkman’s 672,547. Mark Reynolds, Mark Trumbo and Victor Martinez round out the top five at that spot.

Miguel Cabrera, meanwhile, leads all AL vote-getters with a whopping 1,500,165 votes so far. Chris Davis, Robinson Cano and Elvis Andrus are the leading infielders, while Joe Mauer is winning at the catcher spot. The starting outfield right now for the AL would be Mike Trout, Adam Jones and Torii Hunter.

Fans can vote up to 35 times for their favorite players until July 4, and those who vote the maximum are entered to win prizes. Red Sox Nation is also encouraged to use designated hashtags to drum up social media buzz around the campaigns of certain players, like #WakeAndVote for Will Middlebrooks or #DoTheDrew for Stephen Drew.
