Gary Striewski Hired as NESN Feature Reporter

June 28, 2013 — NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, announced today that Gary Striewski has joined NESN as a Feature Reporter and Sports Anchor. In a newly created position, Striewski will provide regular reports covering the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics, along with Hockey East, and all the major college sports throughout New England. In addition, Striewski will be part of the weekend anchor team on NESN Sports Today, NESN’s new nightly sports program that airs live from 10 p.m. to midnight or immediately following NESN postgame coverage.

Striewski comes from NBC TV affiliate KPRC Channel 2 in Houston, the 10th ranked DMA in the country, where he has been a sports anchor and reporter covering Houston’s pro teams, the Astros, Texans and Rockets, along with major college sports in the market.

“Gary brings terrific reporting and anchoring skills in tandem with his energy and enthusiasm for New England sports,” said Joseph Maar, NESN’s vice president of programming & production, executive producer. “He has an engaging personality and passion for storytelling that New England sports fans will appreciate.”

Prior to KPRC the Denver, Colo., native worked as a sports reporter and anchor at the CBS affiliate in Cheyenne, Wyo., and the CBS affiliate in Fort Collins, Colo.

Striewski’s new position is in addition to NESN’s Bruins sideline position opening. His first day at NESN will be July 22.
