The rain was what sent the Yankees and Red Sox off the field and into the dugouts at Yankee Stadium on Sunday night. The thunder was what kept them there.
Both the Red Sox and Yankees could be seen getting collectively freaked out by a huge clap of thunder as the players sat in their respective dugouts and waited for the game to resume. It was all for naught — the game was called in the sixth inning, with the Red Sox winning 3-0 — but at least they put in their time.
