Kobe Bryant Gets Special ‘Medical Mamba’ Shoes Made by Nike for Achilles Rehab (Photo)

It appears that Kobe Bryant is taking his Achilles injury in stride.

The Lakers star tweeted out an Instagram picture walking on an anti-gravity treadmill wearing some “medical Mamba” shoes that were specially made by Nike. Bryant wrote “Walking in my “medical mamba” shoes made by Nike in 2 weeks with extra support for the Achilles #alterG #bootoff!”

In tweet speak, I believe that means that Nike made Bryant some new shoes in just two weeks that have extra support for his torn Achilles that he can wear on an Alter G anti-gravity treadmill now that his walking boot is off. Kobe suffered the torn Achilles on April 12.

Bryant has been keeping his fans up to date with his rehab via Twitter and Instagram since he suffered the injury. The Lakers had a disappointing 2012-13 season after bringing in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

Los Angeles finished in seventh place in the Western Conference, going 45-37. They were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoff.

The Lakers may have some more turnover next season. Howard is already showing interest in moving on to the Dallas Mavericks or Houston Rockets, though the Lakers can offer him the largest contract in free agency.

Check out Bryant’s new shoes in the photo below.
