Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady will captain England’s charges as they attempt to win the U-20 World Cup in Turkey this summer.

The 20-year-old wears the armband for the Reds’ U-21s team and will transfer his leadership qualities to Peter Taylor‘s aspiring outfit. Jon Flanagan has also been selected for the tournament.

England begins its assault on the title with a Group E clash against Iraq on June 23. It takes on Chile three days later before completing the group stage by facing Egypt on June 29.

Coady has made 35 appearances at various youth levels for his country; the local lad made his Liverpool debut during 2012-13 and also featured in his first Barclays Premier League match.
