After the tragedy surrounding this year’s Boston Marathon, running has taken a greater significance in the city of Boston. So it’s all too appropriate that the first cross-country relay will end near the site of the event’s finish line.
Beginning June 7, the One Run for Boston is the first nonstop, coast-to-coast relay ever attempted in the United States. The race kicks off in Los Angeles and is scheduled to end near the Boston Marathon finish line on June 30. More than 300 individual segments, run by an individual or group, cross through 14 states.
Of course, proceeds from the event will go to help those who were affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.
Boston-based ENERGYbits is one of the event’s sponsors. The company specializes in nutritious products that aim to make algae a more viable everyday snack.
