The Patriots have filled another spot on their still yet-to-be full 90-man roster.

The Patriots signed rookie running back George Winn on Monday. The Houston Texans, who signed Winn after the draft, released him late last month during organized team activities.

Winn, who went undrafted out of Cincinnati, ran for 1,334 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2012 — his only full season as the starting tailback. He was also recruited to Cincinnati by now-Notre Dame coach and Bill Belichick‘s close companion Brian Kelly, who just so happened to be at Patriots minicamp last week.

It would also appear that Winn was the mysterious No. 35 who was spotted working out for the Patriots during the minicamp as well. He will compete with Brandon Bolden, LeGarrett Blount and Leon Washington for a spot on the Patriots’ final 53-man roster in training camp.
