The Dodgers and Marlins have been no strangers to wheeling and dealing over the last couple of years. They might soon have a deal amongst themselves.
According to ESPN.com, the Dodgers are deep into trade talks with the Marlins about acquiring pitcher Ricky Nolasco. A source reportedly said that the odds of Nolasco being dealt to Los Angeles are at 70-30.
The Dodgers aren’t the only team linked to the 30-year-old, though. The Red Sox are among the teams that scouted Nolasco’s last start on June 21, according to MLB.com’s Jeff Frisaro.
Frisaro reports that the Giants, Diamondbacks, Rockies and Padres have all shown interest in the right-hander as well, while the Orioles “have been keeping tabs and filling out scouting reports.”
Nolasco, who is 4-7 with a 3.68 ERA, is slated to become a free agent after this season. He’s owed about $6 million more in 2013.
Nolasco is 80-71 with a 4.43 ERA in 211 games (195 starts) over the course of eight big league seasons with the Marlins.
