Rory McIlroy used to chip golf balls into his mother’s washing machine when he was a kid, and it looks like the machines are finally getting their revenge.

In a promotional video for the European Tour, McIlroy — one of the top-ranked players in the world — had a showdown with a robot (of course). Their objective? To hit golf balls into washing machines — from up to 300 yards away.

As SportsGrid.com points out, McIlroy’s opponent was named Golf Laboratory Computer Controlled Hitting Machine, or Geoff for short. Not only can Geoff swing it, he can also do a little trash-talking.
