Ryan DempsterIt wasn’t enough to pick up the win, but Ryan Dempster had a nice bounce-back start this week against the Phillies.

The former NL pitcher allowed two runs in seven innings to Philadelphia while striking out four. He walked three batters and allowed six hits.

Dempster lowered his season ERA to 4.45 after the start. Batters are hitting just .232 against the righty on the season.

Dempster’s next start comes on Tuesday against the Rangers at Fenway Park.
