US Open GolfAfter a handshake that was supposed to serve as the olive branch between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia on Monday, the two still have yet to speak. Garcia’s “fried chicken” comment only worsened an ugly relationship, and even though words were not exchanged verbally, Garcia did say he left a note for Woods in his locker.

Although Garcia confirmed the existence of the handwritten letter, he refused to give away whether or not it contained an apology. Garcia has apologized more than once for his comment in public but maintained during his Tuesday U.S. Open news conference that the note was for Woods.

“The note is for him,” Garcia said. “So, if he wants to show you then he can. I don’t have any problem with that, but I’m not going to show you.”

Woods also danced around any questions regarding the letter. The silence from both Woods and Garcia may be a sign that the storm has finally passed and the two can go back to competitors on the green and not in press conferences.
