After spending Wednesday as a pinch runner and defensive replacement for Mike Carp, Shane Victorino is back in the lineup on Thursday as the Red Sox open a series against the Orioles in Baltimore.

Felix Doubront has a nice matchup against the Birds, as their best hitters, Chris Davis, Adam Jones and Manny Machado, are all better against righties. J.J. Hardy and Nate McLouth have hit lefties hard this year, with .882 and .869 OPS’ respectively.

The Orioles’ starter, Kevin Gausman, has an 8.84 ERA on the season in 19 1/3 innings. Doubront is 4-3 with a 4.84 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 61 1/3 innings.
