streetfighterThere is awesome, and then there’s what Canadian sports network TSN did with Game 1 of the Bruins-Penguins Eastern Conference finals.

The testy affair included a handful of extracurricular activities that left fans clamoring for more immediately after the B’s closed out a 3-0 victory in the series’ first game. Both teams were at each other’s throats early and often, and there was no better example of that than at the end of the second period.

As Patrice Bergeron and Evgeni Malkin dropped the gloves in a rare fight for both players, the team’s two captains — Boston’s Zdeno Chara and Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby — did some shoving and exchanged some pleasantries.

The folks at TSN, in particular the show Off the Record, put together an awesome video of the scuffles as a couple of scenes from Street Fighter II.
