Andre IguodalaWhen Andre Iguodala turned down more money from the Kings and an extra year with the Nuggets to sign with the Golden State Warriors, it was assumed he just wanted the best chance to win. As it turns out, his reasons may have been more, uh, holy.

Bringing his dry sense of humor to the introductory news conference to announce his signing with the Warriors on Thursday, Iguodala gushed about Stephen Curry, one of his new teammates. If the rapture is upon us, Iguodala wants Curry close by his side.

Curry has been called a lot of things, including “the greatest shooter in NBA history,” but this has to be the first time he has been called the Second Coming. Before anybody gets bent out of shape, Iguodala is clearly joking. If anything, Curry is more of a Hermes, or maybe Baldr.
