Oh, look, it’s the Houston Astros. Sometimes we need a reminder that they’re in the American League now.

The Stros opened a three-game set Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles, losing 4-3 on Chris Davis‘ first home run since the All-Star break and falling 35 games below .500. However, give the Astros credit for their effort.

In the third inning, with Houston up 2-1 and having loaded the bases, O’s starter Wei-Yin Chen seemed to forget about Jonathan Villar at third base. When Chen looked over to first base, Villar broke for home. He made it safely but got nailed in the head on the throw to the plate by Chen.

So, yes, this is what the Astros have been reduced to: attempting steals of home with the bases loaded.
