Baylor Puts Wrong Score on Holiday Bowl Rings, Takes Dig at UCLA (Photo)

The Baylor Bears took on the UCLA Bruins in the 2012 Holiday Bowl, and the Bears trampled all over the Bruins, winning the game 49-26.

But the Bears’ bowl championship rings tell a different story. If you didn’t watch the December game, you might think that Baylor won the game 49-19 based on the inscription on the rings. The entire team’s rings have an incorrect score on them — on purpose.

In the final minute of the December 27 game, UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley went airborne to Logan Sweet for a 34-yard touchdown pass as time ran out. But, according to the video evidence, Sweet didn’t actually reach the end zone and was tackled on the one-yard line. The officiating crew awarded the Bruins a touchdown anyway.

Baylor head coach Art Briles was none to pleased with the call, and the Bears took a stand with their championship hardware. Check out the ring in the photo below.
