Clay Buchholz was originally scheduled to make a minor league rehab start this weekend, but that is no longer the case.
Buchholz will instead throw a bullpen session on Sunday, another while he is in New York for the All-Star Game and a simulated game sometime next week before he takes the mound in a real game. This delay is concerning, The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham said during Red Sox GameDay LIVE on Friday, because it may end up pushing Buchholz’s big-league return all the way back to the final week of July.
