Plenty of athletes have tried their hand in the music industry before. Now, you can count DeSean Jackson among them.

Jackson is focused on bouncing back from a career-worst 2012, which saw him post career lows with 45 catches, 700 yards and just two touchdowns, but he’s also turning his attention to a budding new rap career. The Eagles’ No. 1 receiver released his debut single, entitled “Diamonds on my neck,” earlier this month and even came out with a music video for the song.

The track — surprisingly — isn’t some miserably failed attempt at hip-hop, either. That’s not to say it will top the Billboard charts anytime soon (Does that even still matter?) but it does feature hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and has a pretty catchy rhythm to it.

Jackson owns a rap label named Jaccpot Records and has signed a number of up-and-coming stars on the scene in recent months. This seems to be the official kickoff of sorts for the label and seems to be a precursor to DJax’s full album, which is expected out later this month.
